Urban Hiking in San Francisco

Posted on September 6, 2018September 6, 2018 by merrittkt

As I delve deeper into creating my first “side hustle,” I’m looking to test out some of my Urban Hikes that feature the best spots to picnic, eat and drink, enjoy a view, or learn history about the Bay Area. In preparation for that, I created this public map to give a sample of what these could include. If you are interested in helping me out and test-driving my routes with me, please reach out!

What to expect:

Imagine starting with a picnic in one of SF’s beautiful public parks and walking a few blocks to pick up a few small bites before relaxing with a drink somewhere with a view…

Specifically, I’m looking to lead tours on the following dates with times flexible but generally ending before 5 pm and locations ranging from the Mission, Hayes Valley, FiDi, Waterfront, and beyond.

  • Sunday, Sept 9th (midday)
  • Monday, Sept 10th (late afternoon)
  • Wednesday, Sept 12th (midday)
  • Friday, Sept 14th (lunchtime, includes FiDi/NorthBeach)
  • Saturday, Sept 15th (midday)
  • Monday, Sept 17th (late afternoon)
  • Tuesday, Sept 18th (lunchtime, includes Ferry Building)

Feel free to comment below or sign up on my doodle poll if you want to join!

The view from El Techo can’t be beaten!
One of my favorite views of the GG bridge can be found in an assuming community garden.

Of course! It’s a garden in Potrero Hill you can “hike” to from the mission.
