Homesteading

In October 2020, we left our 750 sq ft apartment in San Francisco and moved onto 10 acres in Central Texas. The land was established with a 3-bedroom southwestern-style vacation home with a hot tub, large yard and ATV paths. The first six months were devoted to establishing trails, expanding the garden, and creating unique spaces; but, the journey was just beginning. Check back here often – as we complete projects, we’ll post photos of the property transformation.

Project: Raised Beds

Our garden has been a cornerstone of our lives since we arrived. We expanded the existing fenced-in garden and built four 4’x8′ beds producing produce year-round.

Project: Beekeeping

Our installation of seven boxes in April 2021 by Brenham Bees.

We host 35,000 new friends through Brenham Bees. They are a family business with incredible prices for turn-key beekeeping. We pay an annual fee for seven hives and they take care of the feeding, medicine, and general wellbeing of the bees. We’re expecting our first honey harvest in winter 2022.
